Character Should Build From Early Age

            Indonesia, do you know about Indonesia? Indonesia has rich of natural resources and also a lot of human resources. Indonesia has beautiful nature and makes us proud to be an Indonesian. Yes of course, that’s what we know about Indonesia. But let’s we look at recent events, many riots everywhere, corruption, tribal warfare, social inequality, politics and economics are still large. A lot of potential of intelligent the people In Indonesia who haven’t untapped and developed in Indonesia so ignored simply. Exactly what’s wrong with Indonesia?  We can see Indonesia urgently need of development of the character of the people. In building of character, we can start from the beginning in order to build future generation much better and had ability to think critically high. Some of characters are good, and the examples are discipline, responsible, humble, tenacious, confident, able to control emotions, and much more.  Do we can move forward and better yet? Indonesia would have a major problem in building the character of a person because someone has a habit that they built from child into their adult and will build the character of a person, does it is a good character or bad character? We can see a person from their daily life.

            Schools were highly effective to building character and the teacher as the main model to set a good example to the young generation. Discipline is one of important attitude in building the attitude of students to be more independent. For example, student has been taught since elementary school to be able to use their own clothes without helped by their parents again. The teacher would give the student the task to be able to use their clothes by self and practice in daily life when they were in school.  At school, teachers make the picket line everyday for the student to be done by different groups. Means the teacher was teaching student to be independent in doing everything themselves and to teach students to be working with other friends. During at school, teacher will also train students to be brave and confident. For example, the teacher gives the task with group or individual to be able to explain a lesson to his friend in front of the class. In this way, allowing to growing a sense of brave to speak in front of people and confident in asking the opinion. The teachers practice the students to think critically to solve any problem. The student asked many question in the lesson but the teacher didn’t directly answer the question of student. The teacher given an example of a problem to discuss in class and the teacher providing an understanding of the problem so that the students better understand and critically in solve problems. Discipline from early age allows a person has lived a more organized and independent.

            The next attitude is responsible. Do the teachers at school were taught the student to be responsible in all thing? Of course it does. The teacher gives the task of leadership to the students like a president of the class, vice president, secretary and the admin. Student was trained to be able to handle their friends in class, more responsible with their job and work together with another friend. The practice of it provide examples of the students to be responsible and have leadership skills will also grow well by following the attitude of doing something and should be discussed with friends in class. Student were also taught to always be honest in doing all things and be honest in saying all the actions that the students do, it will get return. Does it be a reward or punishment? For example, the student cheating, the teacher would give a sanction the value 0, because student cannot be honest to himself and other people. Student should be taught honestly from early age, if not they would had a negative impact with their lives. The habit of cheating, can made someone would corruption in society and mad others miserable with their bad actions. A great leader is a person of integrity who could be responsible and honest for all the work to do to their life and others.

            Attitude of humility is also needed in a person, because with an attitude of humble person can be more calm and more concerned with others. How beautiful this country if full with humble people, made the world peaceful. Ok back to the topic, have you seen teachers who strict but remain humble? It was a model of a teacher we need at this time. The student should be taught to be grateful and caring with others. For example, the teacher invited the students to create a social activity event in a foster home or go to the countryside and taught the students to give some money or properties that they have to contribute. That’s a way a teacher to inculcate a sense of humility, togetherness the students and foster a sense of caring with others. At school, the student were taught to respect others with not mocking friends or others people. If attitude of humility is not instilled early on then the student would became a people who don’t care about each other and be damaged their own environment. From humble, students can grow the attitude fair in doing anything and can grow the others good attitude, step by step.

            The conclusion is that character building is very important to build young generation better. Good character helps us to develop our relationship with other peoples and solve all problems well. Teaches good manners in young generation are difficult but we as teachers prospective must try to teach all good attitudes to be adopted during daily life. Instill an attitude of leadership and moral values early on, can bring positive changes to Indonesia and with small steps that can hopefully make big changes for Indonesia. Some most people said:

So, if we teach children that attitude from early age and behaviors that would growth, be habit later, and character should be built from early age.
